My daughter gave birth to Rowan Daniel Pore on Feb 19, 2009. I spent a week with the new family. During this time, talented Anne took some fabulous photos of him.
Look what appeared in the sky on my commute home the other day. That's just Gods way of saying 'Have a nice day' according to my daughter upon seeing a rainbow at the age of three.
Leah makes great salads so I asked her the other day what she put in hers. Base is spinach, then onion, radish, carrot, feta cheese, chicken, plus Newman's Own Light Balsamic Vinaigrette. I tried my hand at it this week and here is the result. It was fabulous. I used her little trick of buying a rotisserie chicken from the grocery store. Thanks Leah!
Tall cool drink...ahhhhh Today I was able to walk around Wells Lake twice. Afterwards, it was so hot, I went straight to Sonic and got a Cherry Dt. Dr. Pepper with a lemon. So refreshing!
I have been working on a quilt with muted shades of golds, browns, greens, and blues. You can see a small bit of some of the blocks on my design board. To balance things out (yin/yang) I decided I would use shades of pinks and purples in my next quilt. And instead of piecing squares together, I would use an applique technique (cut a background fabric and sew shapes on top). So, I cut out the cat and vase you see here with my rotary cutter. I'm into precision (rulers rule) so doing it this way was new for me, but I'm glad I got outside of my usual approach. I'm pleased with it so far.
